All About Therapy
The American Psychological Association says, “Psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.” That’s exactly what I strive to do here. Using a variety of psychotherapy approaches and collaborative treatment methods, I work together with you to identify your goals and build lasting habits that help you reach them. Along the way, we’ll also strengthen your ability to cope with life’s ups and downs. Some of the areas I commonly work in include sexuality, relationship challenges, self-esteem, healing from trauma, and managing life stressors. Each session is designed to explore what’s really going on for you and provide practical, research-based tools to help you live a more fulfilling life.

Talk Therapy
In our sessions at Opal Psychology, our goal is to work together to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and what you truly want in your life. From there, we’ll build on your internal strengths to lift your mood, reduce anxiety, work through current problems, and create new ways of thinking and behaving that bring more peace and balance to your life. Using a trauma-informed lens and drawing from evidence-based practices, I’ll help you “reframe” reactions and experiences while giving you tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence. Therapy sessions can take place one-on-one or with a partner. You can meet with me in my cozy West Edmonton office, or we can connect by phone or secure telehealth—whichever feels right for you, as long as you’re currently in Alberta.

Sexual Wellness
Sexuality and intimacy are important parts of many people’s lives—but they can also be some of the hardest things to talk about. Many people struggle to find safe, knowledgeable spaces to explore questions or challenges around sex, gender, and relationships. Whether you want to work through questions about your gender or sexuality, improve intimacy, or strengthen your relationship, I’m here to walk alongside you toward your goals. I’ve completed specialized training in these areas and work with a wide range of concerns, including:
• Desire differences between partners
• Healing after an affair
• Performance anxiety
• Painful sex
• Low libido
• Out-of-control sexual behavior (sometimes referred to as sex addiction)
• Improving communication and connection in relationships
Whatever your goals are, you don’t have to face them alone—together, we can create a path forward that feels authentic and hopeful.

EMDR
I’m a certified EMDR Therapist with EMDR Canada. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a highly researched and effective therapy recognized by the World Health Organization as a proven treatment for trauma. Trauma can come from a single event that leaves a lasting mark, or from a series of difficult experiences over time. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these experiences in a way that reduces their emotional impact and helps you move forward. Clients often find EMDR helpful for:
• Relational trauma
• Childhood abuse
• Intergenerational trauma
• Chronic pain
• Addiction
