All About Therapy
According to the American Psychological Association, “Psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.” Through the use of various psychotherapy methods and collaborative treatment measures, I work with clients to identify their goals and develop life-changing habits to help them reach them and cope with life’s various obstacles. Some of the specific life areas I work with clients in include: sexuality, relationship issues, self esteem, recovering from traumatic experiences, and working through life stressors. Our therapy sessions are designed to dissect personal issues and provide patients with research based tools to help them live a better life.

Talk Therapy
Therapy sessions can be individually or with another person, and they can happen in my office in Edmonton's West End, or they can happen by telephone or telehealth, as long as you are currently in Alberta. My goal in session is to work together to increase your understanding of yourself, your relationships and what you are hoping for in your life. We will then build up your internal resources to improve your mood, reduce your symptoms of anxiety, solve current problems and improve thinking and behavior to improve your life. We will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with tools to cope with life’s obstacles. Get in touch to book an appointment.

Sex Therapy
Sexuality and intimacy is a significant part of many people's lives. It is also an area that we often struggle to talk about and find resources to work through the many issues that we can face throughout our lives. Whether you are wishing to work through issues about your gender, sexuality or relationship (s), I am here to listen, and to work alongside of you. I have level 3 training in the Gottman Method, and am currently completing my training and supervision with the Sexual Health Alliance to complete the requirements of certification as a Sex Therapist with AASECT. A few examples of the types of issues I work with include: you are experiencing desire discrepancies in your relationship, recovering from an affair, or seeking to improve the effectiveness of the conflict in your relationships.

EMDR Therapy
I am a certified EMDR Therapist with EMDR Canada. EMDR stands for Eye Movemement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This therapy has been extensively researched and is a World Health Organization approved treatment for trauma. Traumas that we experience in our lives can be one time events, that have longer term effects, or they can be a series of events. Some of the issues that clients find EMDR helpful with include: relational traumas, childhood abuse, intergenerational trauma, chronic pain, and addiction.
